Isla grande, is a famous spot for surfers from Panama city, that mean what in the weekends with good waves is crowd, in Isla Grande we will surf la Punta, which is the only spot of the Island. In Isla Grande exist different options to stay, one of the most used hotels what we use in the island, is the one on top of the break, this hotel have also a restaurant for this reason is easy to check the surf from the room or while we are eating Breakfast, lunch or dinner

On the way to Isla Grande we can find some historical places like the Portobelo ruins, this place is world heritage, because is full of history sense the year 1502 when cristopher Colombus arrive in the area and discover the potencial, comercial locations, what this places have, this place was one of the most important ports in the Caribbean side of the hole American continent to transport the tresures what comes from south America in Lima Peru, to Sevilla Spain.

Isla Grande is also know for the beautifull corals what surrounds it, so for this reason is good to mix the surf with some snorkeling or diving.

In Isla Grande exist a light house in the highest part of the island, from there is good to see Tambor Island an the beautifull horizon og the caribbean.

Returning to the surfing topic, La Punta in Isla Grande with a good north swell, gets very consistant, and you can ride lefts and rights. The bottom of this spot is a beautifull coral reef and in the same way very sharp, but don't worry, in the moment of the take of, is not shallow but after a couple of snaps you have to be carefully in the end of the wave, because is not too deep but not too shallow.
