The province of Chiriqui is located in the north of the republic, 444 klm, which is 6 hours driving or 1 hour flying from the international airport of Tocumen in Panama City, this province is in the border with Costa Rica touching the Pacific side, there we can we have a lot of options to surf, but the best and more consistant spots are beach breaks, some of the spots to surf in the area are: Las Lajas, Barqueta, Olivos and Las Silvas or Morro negrito.

The beach breaks of Chiriqui are the most cosistant in the hole Republic, sometimes is no waves anywhere in the Pacific coast and in Playa la Barqueta which is 20 minutes drive from David is chest to head high, with no body surfing around, but remember that is a beach break and is very expose to the south west winds, that mean what the best moment to surf is early in the morning, or in the afternoon, the other important factor to surf this beach break are the tides, what is no good to surf in the low tide or in the high tide

The restaurants at David, Volcan or boquete area are very good because there exist a turistical move sense a couple of years ago, but in the beaches areas, is very different because normally the people from David goes there just in the weekends, that mean what in the week days normally is empty, just can find the people that live there on front of such a beautifull places on the Pacific Ocean.

Las lajas, can be the base camp for some activities in the area, like surfing at Las Silvas(Morro negrito) this place is know as one of the best surfing spots of Panama, the same as fishing. From Las Lajas is just a short drive to the port, to take the boat ride to Las Silvas, from this port is just around 1 hour boat ride through a very interesting river, where we can find monkeys, sloths, etc..
